Our Mission

At Charchelly's Culinary Academy, our mission is to inspire confidence, creativity, and independence through hands-on culinary education. We are committed to teaching students of all ages valuable life skills while fostering a safe, respectful, and enjoyable learning environment.

1. Registration Policy

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

A student's seat is not guaranteed until registration is complete and payment has been received.

Enrollment closes when class capacity has been reached.

Waitlisted students will be contacted if a seat becomes available.

2. Pre-Registration Meeting Policy

To provide equal service to every family, Charchelly's Culinary Academy does not offer individual meetings prior to registration.

We understand parents want to make the best decision for their child, and we are happy to answer questions by phone, email, or text message.

For families who wish to experience a class before enrolling, we offer a Class Observation/Audit:

  • $25 per student
  • Advance registration required
  • Includes ingredients and classroom materials
  • Students participate in class alongside enrolled students
  • Audit fees are non-refundable
  • Audit fees do not reserve a future class seat

This policy allows us to dedicate our time to teaching while still giving prospective families an opportunity to experience our program.

3. Payment Policy

All tuition is due no later than three (3) days before the scheduled class.

Payment deadlines ensure that ingredients, equipment, recipes, and supplies are purchased for each enrolled student.

Students whose payments are not received by the deadline may lose their reserved seat.

Last-minute registrations are accepted only if space and supplies remain available.

Accepted payment methods include approved ESA/ClassWallet payments and other accepted payment options listed during registration.

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Student Cancellations:

  • 7 or more days before class: full refund (minus processing fees if applicable)
  • 3–6 days before class: class credit toward a future class
  • Less than 72 hours before class: no refunds

Academy Cancellations — if we cancel a class because of illness, weather, or unforeseen circumstances, families may choose either a full refund, a class credit, or a transfer to another available class.

5. Attendance Policy

Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes.

If a student misses class, tuition is not refunded. Makeup classes are offered only when space is available. Missed classes do not guarantee a private lesson.

6. Arrival & Pick-Up Policy

Students should arrive 10–15 minutes before class begins.

Parents should arrive promptly for pickup.

Late pickups beyond 15 minutes may incur a $15 fee for every additional 15 minutes.

7. Student Behavior Expectations

Every student deserves a safe learning environment. Students are expected to:

  • Respect instructors, classmates, and equipment
  • Follow all safety instructions
  • Use appropriate language
  • Participate positively

Unsafe behavior may result in a verbal warning, parent notification, or removal from class. No refunds will be issued for dismissals due to behavior.

8. Kitchen Safety Policy

Students agree to follow knife safety rules, follow food safety procedures, use equipment properly, wear closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and wash hands when instructed.

Students who refuse to follow safety procedures may be removed from cooking activities.

9. Food Allergy Policy

Parents must disclose food allergies, medical conditions, and dietary restrictions.

Although every effort is made to reduce risk, Charchelly's Culinary Academy cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Parents should discuss severe allergies before registration.

10. Dress Code

Students should wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing, with long hair tied back.

Aprons are recommended. No loose sleeves or dangling jewelry.

11. Cell Phone Policy

Phones should remain put away unless needed for emergencies, used during instructional activities, or permitted by the instructor.

Repeated phone use may result in confiscation until the end of class.

12. Photo & Video Policy

Photos and videos may be taken for social media, marketing, educational materials, and academy promotions.

Parents may opt out by notifying the academy in writing before class begins.

13. Illness Policy

Please keep students home if they have fever, vomiting, diarrhea, contagious illness, or flu-like symptoms.

Students should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning.

14. Liability Policy

Cooking involves knives, heat, kitchen equipment, and food preparation.

By enrolling, parents acknowledge these risks and release Charchelly's Culinary Academy, its owners, instructors, employees, and volunteers from liability except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

15. Communication Policy

The academy communicates through email, text, and phone. Parents are responsible for keeping contact information current.

16. Supplies & Materials

Tuition includes ingredients, recipes, classroom equipment, disposable supplies, and instruction.

Students may take home completed recipes unless otherwise noted.

17. Parent Observation Policy

To minimize distractions and encourage student independence, parents may not remain in the classroom during regular instruction unless previously approved.

Observation is available through the $25 Class Audit/Observation Program.

18. Respect Policy

Charchelly's Culinary Academy is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone is treated with kindness and respect.

Discrimination, bullying, harassment, intimidation, or inappropriate conduct toward students, parents, instructors, or staff will not be tolerated.
